How you can help
reachAbility is a charitable organization that supports persons of all ages with all types of disabilities through a wide variety of innovative programs and services. Our goal is to equalize the playing field one ability at a time.
Both Camp reachAbility locations – Orangedale, Cape Breton and Paradise, Annapolis Valley – are providing the most financially challenged, high-needs, disabled youth with the best possible summer camping experience — free of charge!
In partnership with the Department of Community Services: Family and Children’s Services, reachAbility is committed and excited to ensure an exceptional residential camping service.
Camp runs from June to August, where our highly trained staff engage campers in swimming, boating, yoga, cooking classes, music and art therapy. Our full-time nurse and three to one camper-to-counselor ratio may demand more resources — but the smiles prove it is worth it!
This is where you come in. We know with your support, this year’s camping experience will be the best ever! We ask for your support in assisting us with obtaining products and services needed to allow us to expand our summer programs.
You can donate items that we need to run the camp. See our wish list for our current needs.
All proceeds raised are directly applied to obtaining equipment and supplies in support of all our summer camp programs. Charitable receipts are available as well as recognition on our camp website, media and print materials.
By donating your time to assist us in repair and clean up of camp. Build things we can use at the camp site (we can use a lot, just ask).
