Spring is just around the corner, and that means Camp is ramping up in a big way! We’ve got plenty of exciting information for you – from camper registration forms, great summer employment opportunities, Leaders in Training sessions, and more!

We’re excited to be announcing that Camp reachAbility Paradise will have an additional two weeks of camp to our programming for 2014! This means more campers can come, making our goal of turning no one away that much more of a reality. The first week of camp in the Annapolis Valley will begin Monday, June 16th, while Cape Breton will open its doors on Monday, June 30th, 2014.

And on that note – the 2014 Camper Registration Form is now available here! Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis, so get those forms in! Feel free to fill it in on your computer, save it, and email it in, or print and mail it to our office. All the details you need are in the form, but if you have any questions, please contact manda@reachability.org.

Not looking to be a camper, but searching for great summer employment? We are still looking for 2014 Camp staff! Are you a Licenced Practical Nurse (LPN) looking to expand your experiences in a unique setting? A lifeguard who has a passion for working with persons with disabilities? An out-going person who just loves to sing campfire songs, play and craft with people who love to do the same? Check out our job postings here and be sure to submit your resume by April 1st, 2014!

Our 2014 Leaders in Training (LIT) workshops are going great! Just last week, we had Casey Vaasjo in to facilitate a session on Non-Violent Communication, with 10 amazing people taking part. We learned plenty about different ways to communicate – especially in times when communicating is proving difficult! Thanks to everyone who came, and a special thanks to Casey for facilitating. Our next session will be an introduction to Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) with Liraz Rahinshtein. Check here for more information.

There will be plenty happening leading up to Camp, so keep checking back for more information!
